Covid 19: 411 new cases

The Azores registered 411 new cases of Covid-19 in the last week, now totaling 446 active cases, seven less than the previous week, resulting from 1,923 tests carried out, the Regional Directorate for Health revealed today.
According to a note from the Regional Health Authority, also in the period between 12 and 18 August, 416 people recovered from the disease.
Today, it is mentioned in the statement, there are 17 patients hospitalized in regional hospitals, two for Covid-19, both at Hospital de Santo Espirito on Terceira Island, and 15 for other causes, but also positive for covid-19.
At the Hospital do Divino Espirito Santo in Ponta Delgada, on the island of Säo Miguel, 13 patients are hospitalized for other reasons, but positive for Covid-19, while at the Hospital da Horta, on the island of Faial, and at the Hospital de Santo Espirito da Ilha, two other patients are hospitalized in the same situation.
Of the 411 new cases, most were diagnosed on the island of Säo Miguel (208), while Corvo, the smallest island in the Azores, remains without since the beginning of the pandemic, in March 2020,
119,086 cases of Covid-19, 117 deaths and 118,208 recoveries have been confirmed in the region. In the archipelago, there are 218,370 people with complete vaccination against covid-19 (92.4%) and 128,520 (54-4%) already have the booster dose.
