Azores with three deaths
and 3,051 new cases in the last week
Açoriano Oriental reports that the Azores recorded 3,051 new cases of Covid-19 and three deaths in the last week, with 3,413 active cases now, 822 less than last week, revealed the Regional Health Authority.
The weekly bulletin on the epidemiological situation in the region released on the Azorean Government’s website indicates that 3,051 new cases of covid-19 were identified in 5,060 tests carried out in the last week.
In the same period, 3,874 recoveries and three deaths were also reported.
Of the new cases, 69 were registered in Santa Maria, 1,134 in São Miguel, 743 in Terceira, 20 in Graciosa, 190 in São Jorge, 527 in Pico, 313 in Faial, 48 in Flores and seven in Corvo.
Currently, the Azores have 3,413 active cases of covid-19: 29 in Santa Maria, 1,670 in São Miguel, 873 in Terceira, 18 in Graciosa, 193 in São Jorge, 330 in Pico, 260 in Faial, 31 in Flores and nine in the crow.
In the region, 60 people are hospitalized with covid-19, of which 36 are at the Ponta Delgada Hospital, 23 of which due to covid-19 and 13 “for other reasons”, but with a positive test.
At the Hospital da Horta, there are 10 inpatients (six due to covid-19 and four who were hospitalized for other reasons, but who tested positive for the new coronavirus), while at the Hospital da Terceira island 14 people are hospitalized (11 for “reasonable reasons”. of covid-19”).
The region also has one person hospitalized in an intensive care unit at the Ponta Delgada Hospital.
In the archipelago, 556,736 doses of the vaccine against covid-19 were administered, with 92.1% of the population with complete vaccination (217,652) and 53.1% with the booster dose (125,586).
Since the beginning of the covid-19 pandemic, the Azores have recorded a total of 117 deaths, 109,533 infections by SARS-CoV-2, which causes covid-19, and 105,686 recoveries.
